Dueling projects...

Tracy Bromwich

It's going to be a busy couple weeks in my studio with two projects in the works. Above is a custom wrap for a sweet mama whom I've known and respected for years. I'm aiming to get this done before her baby arrives. <3 There will be extras listed in my shop when it is complete! Below is a quilt for the auction at my daughter's school. We worked with the first grade/kinder class on hand-dyeing the colored squares. It was a lot of fun and they are so excited to see their work sewn into a finished piece!

There's a new warp on my loom!

There's a new warp on my loom! In case you're wondering how it got there, here are some behind the scenes pics of my process for beaming the warp. I work in 2" sections with multiple colors that shift from one side to the other. It's a lot of emptying and filling of spools but I love the results!

For the past month I've had the pleasure of working with a very sweet mama on the design of a custom wrap for her daughter's first birthday. The collaboration was a lot of fun and I'm really happy with the results. (My daughter is also enthralled.) I'm not sure this is a color scheme I would have arrived at working alone. It's so great to get an outside perspective now and then and to help realize another person's ideas. I look forward to a time when I am able to take on this sort of project on a regular basis.

Kismet

Tracy Bromwich

Currently on the loom is Kismet. The warp is 100% Egyptian Cotton with colors that form a gradation between a deep blue green to a greenish grey. These two colors randomly arrived together in a shipment. When I saw them paired, I knew they were meant to be together! One of the resulting wraps is intended for a friend. There will be one available in a deep peacock cotton weft (which is organic cotton and very soft and squishy) and one available in a mineral blue cottolin. Both will be listed for sale within the coming week or two.
