yuzu
I was sad to get to the end of the beautiful orange blanket I made for my younger daughter's class auction. The colors were so welcoming in my studio. So I put this together and it's already feeling like a happier place!
Yuzu is a citrusy gradation that combines natural Egyptian cotton with a range of yellows and oranges. The warp is 80% Egyptian Cotton. For a greater range of color I threw a couple cottons and an organic cotton into the mix. I plan to thread this for my standard two-block pointed twill. There are some weave drafts I've been wanting to try that use a different tie-up and this may be the time I try them since the loom had previously been tied-up for plain weave. I plan to use some natural wefts (hemp/cotton blend, superwash wool, a 10/2 natural cotton) and am really excited to see how this looks with color. Specifically corals, pinks and peaches.
I will post pictures here of my progress. I expect this to be my main focus in April. I am currently hard at work on my competition project!
