Obscura is the project I have undertaken as Artist in Residence at the Camera Obscura Art Lab in Santa Monica from April-July 2017. You can read more about it here.
The warp for this wrap is 10/2 100% Organic pima cotton. It has been hand-dyed in a palette to match a series of watercolor studies I completed at a favorite local park. The weft is lace-weight superwash merino wool hand-dyed by Madeline Tosh in the colorway Shire. It is woven with a draft that may be found in Dictionary of Weaves by E.A. Posselt (handweaving.net pattern #10116). This is a weave with a pleasing texture and delicately intricate interlacement. It is woven on an 8-shaft loom and employs 12 treadles. It weighs approximately 305 grams/m^2.
