It's time for some traveling....

Tracy Bromwich

August has arrived! This month we will be celebrating our 5-year old graduating from preschool, preparing our almost-3-year old to begin and taking our very first road trip as a family of 5! All this craziness will mean far less time at the loom. I thought that instead of leaving the cloth wound about the cloth  beam while I go off and have fun, it might be nice to send some wraps on vacation, too! If everything goes according to plan, I should have 2 wraps finished by the end of next week to send wandering. If you live within the US and would like to host one of these wraps, send a PM to wonder woven LLC. Please include a link to your feedback profile. I will be looking for hosts with at least 10 positive feedback comments and no negative comments. Preference will be given to those who have not previously hosted one of my wraps. I will be selecting 6 hosts for each wrap. If you are selected, you may keep the wrap for one week before shipping it via insured Priority Mail to the next person. It would be greatly appreciated if you could post photos to Loom2Wrap while the wrap is in your care. If I choose to use your photos (with your permission, of course) in my web gallery, I can offer you a Stalk-free Pass for future listings. When the wraps return back to me, they will be for sale by draw for anyone who has hosted and would like the opportunity to purchase. Thanks so much for keeping these wraps company while I am away!

Ready to Tie Up the Treadles!

Tracy Bromwich

My current warp on the Glimakra is beamed, threaded, sleyed and tied to the front beam! All 960 threads. Now for the fiddly part of tying up the treadles. I need to pause and enjoy it for a bit just the way it is! Here are some pics from along the way.

This will take me some time to complete!

Just washed ashore...

Sea Anemone is a twill weave gradation with shades of violet blending with sea foam and blues. It has an Egyptian Cotton warp and cottolin weft. It weighs approximately 374 grams/m^2.

I will be listing the following wraps in my shop on Saturday, July 19 at 8 am Pacific. Prices do not include shipping.

Heather cottolin weft 4.8 meters $456 (shown on top)

Amethyst cottolin weft 4.9 meters $465.50 (second from the top)

Wedgewood Blue cottolin weft 4.9 meters $465.50 (bottom)

(The third wrap down, with Egyptian Cotton weft, is reserved.)

Can't decide which you prefer? I also have a color block ring sling remnant that will be available. This is a split weft with half in Wedgewood Blue, the other half with the two purple shades. It is 2.15 meters in length. The price is $204.25.

Guava Pop

Tracy Bromwich

Guava Pop is a pointed twill weave gradation with colors ranging from yellows to pinks to corals. The warp is 100% cotton - mostly Egyptian Cotton, though I did use another cotton yarn with similar characteristics to expand my color palette. The weft is Egyptian Cotton. It weighs approximately 340 grams/meter^2.

At First Blush

Tracy Bromwich

100% cotton warp in a pointed twill weave. The warp is mostly Egyptian Cotton - though to achieve the color range I was after, I did have to use a couple colors from a different cotton yarn with similar characteristics. The colors are a gradient of peachy-pink through burgundy to a sort of more purple-pink. Weft color/fiber and wrap lengths available are as follows. From left to right:

Blossom pink cotton weft 5.4 meters long, approx. 305 grams/m^2  $432

Magenta cottolin weft 3.85 meters long, approx. 324 grams/m^2 $319.55

Plum cottolin weft 4.2 meters long, approx. 340 grams/m^2 $348.60

ight fuchsia cottolin weft 3.25 meters long, approx. 340 grams/m^2 RESERVED

Burgundy Egyptian Cotton weft 4.5 meters long, approx. 320 grams/m^2 RESERVED

Not pictured is a Blossom pink cotton 2 meter long ring sling piece $160

For those without fast fingers but full of luck, I will be making one available by draw on my Facebook page. Please leave me a comment there with your weft and length preference. I will randomly select one person to choose their favorite wrap at 6 PM Pacific on Tuesday, June 10.  The remaining wraps (and maybe one silky Swizzle) will be available to purchase in my shop at 8 AM Pacific on Wednesday, June 11.
